Jack Roush and Ricky Rudd among NASCAR Hall of Fame nominees
Jack Roush and Ricky Rudd are two of the five new nominees for the 2017 NASCAR Hall of Fame class.
Roush, the owner of Roush Fenway Racing, has seen his teams win 321 NASCAR races among the Sprint Cup, Xfinity and Camping World Truck Series. Rudd, a longtime driver (and owner) in the Cup Series, has 23 career Cup wins.
The two are joined by Ron Hornaday Jr., Ken Squier and Waddell Wilson on the 2017 ballot. Hornaday has won the Truck Series title four times while Squier is the voice of NASCAR on television for many fans. Wilson won three championships as an engine builder with David Pearson (2) and Benny Parsons.
The five join these other 15 nominees for the 2017 class, which will be announced in May.

With Roush's inclusion to the list of nominees, the most fascinating part of the selection process may be how the committee handles the current owners on the list. Roush, Hendrick and Childress are all currently active in the sport. Does one's credentials stand out over the others? Will they all go in together? If they do, it only leaves two spots in the class for others.
Our quick guess for the class goes like this: Baker, Kulwicki, Martin, Parsons, Parks. We'll undoubtedly be wrong though.
